You, Me, and the Kids (The Preteen Years) on DVD
Each DVD in this series presents four or five programs that focus on an important youth issue. A drama within each program will keep the viewers' attention while interviews and group discussions with young people, educators, counselors, and parents will offer balanced information. Gender Issues and Teen Relationships:
- Pressures of Sex: Sex... what's a teen to do? Lisa is giving out signals. Are she and Matt getting a little too close?
- Out in the World: As teens become aware of their sexuality, there is a tendency to marginalize anyone they perceive to be "different," especially anyone they think may be gay. Emily's friend is being targeted as gay.
- Dangerous Encounters with STDs: STDs are easily spread in teens who aren't armed with information. Chloe gets news she'd rather not hear about a former boyfriend.
- It's a Guy Thing: Many teen guys are raised harshly to be the stereotypical "guy," but can they let go of the stereotypes and still be cool? Lisa offers her boyfriend a safe place to talk.
- Kids having Kids: What are the sacrifices of having a baby during the teen years? The realities of teen parenthood. Emily gets to know a teen mom.
