Researchers find four orphaned new born cougars and decide to try to raise them in captivity. Their goal is to eventually release them into the wild.

Part of the study is to determine whether the cougars can be taught to kill. This would be an unprecedented opportunity to learn why cougars do kill, at times indiscriminately.
