Through Our Eyes: Freedom of the Press in Indian Country

What role does First Nations media play when collecting and telling stories about their own people? Are they subject to the same ethical standards as mainstream (non-native) media outlets? What pressures come into play especially when First Nations media outlets are in fact influenced and even controlled by the very people and organizations who are the subjects of the stories? What are the impacts on objective storytelling? Does the audience get the whole story or is there the temptation to 'gloss over' the truth because the stories are by First Nations and about First Nations?
