Episode 7: The National Perspective

Country Available: Canada, USA

What do Canadians think about water? Walkerton and North Battleford made us aware that public safety cannot be taken lightly. Major floods in Alberta, Quebec and Manitoba highlight the woes of water management and climate change. Climate change will affect the entire world, so how are Canadians dealing with changes already occurring? International committees work to address water issues between Canada and the U.S., but much remains unresolved. How much water can each country take from the Great Lakes? What is Canada's role abroad? This episode also highlights the struggle for clean water in Yellow Quill, a First Nations community in central Saskatchewan, with research led by Dr. Hans Peterson of the Safe Drinking Water Foundation.
