02. North American Indigenous Games (NAIG 2)

The North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) will be hosted by the Cowichan Tribes of Vancouver Island in 2008. They will host more than seven thousand athletes, performers and spectators in the first games held on reserve land.

In this episode, Tears and Triumphs follows athletes and Cowichan organizers as they prepare for and participate in the 2006 NAIG being held in Denver, Colorado. The emotions of the Denver North American Indigenous Games accent this episode, and reveal how preparation for sporting events is just as involved for organizers as it is for the athletes.
