Program 1 – Drug Addiction-Cocaine and Meth – The consequences of drug addiction can be profound.  Carrie meets with Dr. Beter Butt, an addicitons specialist who explains drug addictions and how it affects users.  Next, she meet with Gerald Morin, a former leader of the Metis Nationsl Council and Carla Meyers who share their stories of addiction and their struggle to recovery.  Later, Carrie attends the Mushum and Kokum Walk at the Yellow Quill Reserve and learns how elders, through their teachings, are trying to reach out and raise awareness of addictions.

Program 2 – Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) – Drinking during pregnancy can result in serious, permanent damage to the unborn child.  Carrie meets with Dr. Pat Blakely who explains the diagnosis of FASD.  Next Carrie visits with Tony Bull, a young mother of three who has been diagnosed with FASD.  Tony  shares her story, her hopes and her dreams.

Program 3 – Diabetes Part 1 – The popularity of collective kitchens and community gardens is growing by leaps and bounds.  Carrie visits them to learn that this grass roots effort fills many social needs while helping the participant’s meet their nutritional goals. She then travels to the Muskeg Lake First Nation and joins in a garden judging competition.
