Recent intensive forestry practices in Finland have resulted in the development of “Birdmen”, a group of dedicated naturalists who have an implicit understanding and deep concern for each and every owl they encounter. They realise that with the eradication of owl nesting sites, the owls would be in jeopardy of extinction. This program follows one birdman as he faithfully follows and maintains owl nesting boxes and also visits, photographs, observes and collects data on the owls of his forest.
