At the Gate

Go back...

Adapted from a poem by Canadian author, Philip Child, At the Gate is a short drama which begins with the sale of the family home. As the film proceeds, the family’s life from over several decades is called forth births, marriages, hopes, dreams, deaths, and the change of many values once held dear. The concept of personal heritages and what they mean to us, our families and our children is explored.

This program offers much to school resource centers and public libraries - a program that addresses family life, old age, changing beliefs in values, while being an evocative poem, read by renowned actor, Christopher Plummer.
